Sounds interesting! It has the word GOLF in it.

But, what’s BUNDLED GOLF?

It’s a fairly simple answer to a more complex question if you’re a golfer. Bundled golf is golf membership that is included, or bundled, with the price of your home/condo. There are still annual membership fees and often still an initiation fee, but both are often much lower than with a traditional, private club membership. Bundled golf membership includes many, if not all, of the same amenities you’d expect with any club membership like dining, tennis, pickleball, pool, spa, and social events/activities. Why are the fees lower if it has all of the same basic services you ask? Because the membership pool is typically much larger.

So, what are the pros of BUNDLED GOLF?

  • It’s typically a more affordable option for golf club membership.
  • It typically transfers with the sale of your home and can be a positive selling point.
  • It’s typically transferrable to renters.
  • It’s great for recreational golfers.

And the cons?

  • Because there is a larger membership, tee times can sometimes be limited.
  • Following the first bullet point, for the avid golfer who wants to golf without any limitations, this might not be the best option.
  • If bundled golf is included with every home in the community, and you don’t plan to partake in anything the club has to offer, you are paying fees for something you’re not going to use.

The caveats:

There are several bundled golf communities where not every home in the community includes bundled golf. If it was optional at the time of construction, there was usually only one chance to take advantage of membership and it was during the construction phase. In this case, homes in the same community that do not include the bundled golf are usually social members of the club which is included with their HOA dues and often allows golfing in the off-season. Sometimes during the community’s construction they will open golf membership to those outside the community for a limited amount of time. These caveats can make shopping for a bundled golf home a little tricky because you can’t assume that the golf membership is included with the home you are buying. This information is usually included with the listing but is sometimes incorrect.
